PDG Marcia Newyear
2010-2011
PDG Marcia Newyear has proudly worn her Lion pin for over 20
years. She has held several positions in
her club but is most noted for being First Vice president of her club forever.
Not necessarily a person that does things in order, in 2003-2004
Lion Marcia held the position of Desert Region Chair, and in 2004-05, Desert Zone “A”
Chair and finally she was able to secure the title of President of Acton Lions
Club for two years. Lion Marcia has been a
presenter at the USA/Canada Forum for two years and was a
Moderator in Memphis. Lion Marcia was MD4-L1 District Governor 2010-2011.
She has been Acton Lions Club Lion of the Year and District
4-L1 Lion of the year. She has received two District Governor Appreciation
Awards, the International President Leadership Medal and is a Melvin Jones
Fellow.
Lion Marcia is proud of her husband, Past District Governor
Bill, who is at present the Leadership chair for the Multiple District for California and her
daughter, LAPD officer Channing, who has been on the force for over 10 years.
She is better known in the Multiple District 4 and
District 4-L1 as FLASH because of
her right hand having a camera bonded to it.
